Winter Session: Discipline & Guidance
Clear boundaries, consistency and rhythm in relation to Family Values & limitations within your home
Session Description
In these classes, we will learn how developing a set of Family Values unique to your home will help establish clear boundaries and disciplinary actions, which are pivotal to maintaining a healthy "norming continuum" and harmony at home. In conjunction with childhood social-emotional developmental areas, we will learn: - What the "Simplicity Parenting" and "The Soul of Discipline" books label as the ‘Governor, Gardener, and Guide’ stages for the parents in charge; - “Pinging”, the difference between ‘disobedient’ and ‘disoriented’; - How to effectively discipline through the ages, keeping your child and family in mind. Sessions will include group discussions, small group work, and support/resources from the Simplicity Parenting Institute. This session includes two classes that shall take place Saturday February 1st and 15th, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:30 pm. When you register for this session, you are committing to attending both classes; if you sign up for all four seasonal sessions, you will receive access to the Simplicity Parenting Forum and resources.
